Love Story

Preston and I met on March 18, 2011 after talking and texting for about a week prior. My best friend and her boyfriend set us up. Ok, they really only gave me his number and I took the lead from there.

From the very first moment I talked to him on the phone, I knew that we had a special connection. We could talk for hours and never lose interest. We would text message all day long and talk on the phone til the wee hours of the night. I felt like I was in high school again and I had never even met the guy.

On March 18, 2011 I had planned a date for us. We went to Funtasia and played games and had a blast. There was no awkwardness or feelings of discomfort. We had so much fun and I kicked his butt at almost every game. After that, we went to Sherri's for some late dinner and then back to my house to watch The Other Guys. We had so much fun together and spent hours together like we had always known eachother.

He proved to be not like any other guy. This goofy kid with curly hair and a heart of gold genuinely liked me. He took me grocery shopping as our second date just to get some time in with me. Even that was fun as long as we were together. We have been inseparable ever since. Spending time together was challenging at first because we have conflicting work schedules, but we managed to squeeze in whatever time we could. We met up before work for coffee, we met up at lunch, we would drive to each other's houses for just a half an hour after work. We would take what we could get. We had Wednesday and Friday nights together. Those were date nights.

Very shortly after we started dating, my life got rocky. And he stuck by my side through all the tears, the pain, the heartbreak, the laughs, the smiles, the sickness, the wisdom teeth extractions, the irrational moods, everything. Most guys would have RUN far far away at that point. He supported me through the very worst times of my life. And it made our relationship stronger. We have been through Hell and back together in the short time we've known each other. We have both lost family members. We have both had friends turn their backs on us. We have been there for each other through all of this and continue to build a stronger relationship every single day.

I can honestly say that through it all, Preston is my very best friend. He loves me for all of my faults. He has supported me more than most of the people I have known my entire life. He has given me his whole entire heart, as I have given him mine. One day, I plan to marry this boy who amazes me more and more every single day with all that he does.

I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Update:

On October 25, 2012 I married my best friend in Vegas. Without any of our family knowing. Now we are trying to learn our new roles as husband and wife.
